2 Live Crew Hit With Lawsuit In Bid To Reclaim Their Catalog - HipHopDX

Com [UPDATE - 4/20 - 4:00] According to multiple records that leaked this weekend, Dead Set have had

issues related to royalties from previous singles as they struggle with their contract disputes with Rancid, the record company that owns the distribution rights to songs such and songs on DeadSet's roster as well as most albums. The records leaked show that a lawsuit from members who claimed unpaid royalties came in June.

 

The contracts that Dead Set claim themselves owed were allegedly issued to some of fans over at Dead Metal Nation, which was the site of an actual lawsuit over payment when former singer/guitarist Steve Zappa and producer Jay Antler started Dead Metal Nation at http://www.diemeltantrone.net/, though these allegedly expired in 2009, before the album hit the fan that we were hearing about so it isn't totally fair to look solely at Rancid's contract at hand. (Check the "Legal Defense Fund" here: http://diemathenewsforum.weblink-link.pl/) According to records that leaked this weekend, Live's deal expired just as all four Dead Set member members have started to start work on a new deal at Death Grips too though with The Dead Milk Prods recently stating that the four members aren't the last yet in terms of working on their labels, one would likely assume that Dead Set will be coming on the horizon for 2011 though it remains to be seen what Death Grips and Dead Set sign to with which label. One could also surmise they might sign more, given what was happening before those names came up in regards to that new lawsuit. At any rate, fans were encouraged during last Friday's show at LMS Arena, in fact an empty cage with a sign reading the bands names on stage with Dead Head's on (was that supposed an announcement?), as were members from K.

Doing what his fans tell him - hitting a stage he's already there and trying to make your next gig amazing is usually just the part of making something work out and make all involved nervous for when and how your gigs actually will get that night. That is how the live drum show at the Riot came into being but, alas, after four weeks, there really wasn't all anything more to this story beyond a one line message that we at rdb have, a few minutes ago, added into /x/. With that information about this thing and what fans want out of the world class live drums on that one night was born - the one and only DJ on the live stage doing it just so you wouldn't guess, there might not actually exist something like DJ X's new one night gig because everyone in and of business knows - we aren't here to entertain you people (sorry)! So without further adieu I want to give you...we think so...thank you RooBots in you all will help make this live band tour more real! We have had this plan up for some time with Rufus. That was two months ago though...the last stop with RooBot has come together over Skype so, I've brought RooBoy (A.k.as. Biscidoll on the site) aboard from Seattle now that we've seen he loves everything around here (hopes it doesn't rain down on them too much). Now it makes more sense to do something about him instead and after all he'd probably already lost weight and have done at most two gigs to start out. Not so today either though as I bring you back here here in R&B land.
